I wanted to try Directv since I was moving into a new home and had been using cable for years, so I was open to trying something different. I already had my own receiver given to me by a friend so I thought it would be a good idea to use their service. Until they tell me they will charge me an extra $50 a month because I'm using my own receiver. They want me to "lease" theirs to me and charge me every month for it...wtf? On top of that they tell me I will need TWO dishes installed onto my roof...wtf again? Read the small print too, you will be charged an early cancellation fee if you decide it sucks, plus the monthly fee goes up after the "trial period". Looks like I'm going back to Time Warner cable.
