As I have stated in earlier reviews, I am an Alice fan and love his entire body of work. On this release, Alice went back to his garage sound of the early 70's (a lot of fans swear by early Alice). While I like his early records, I think I am an even bigger fan of everything from Hey Stoopid onward. This album, while a favorite among older Alice fans, really to me is a somewhat boring album. Alice's growl seems to be missing here. There are some good, catchy songs. Alice always has stuff I like, but this album seems like Alice lite. Alice's next album, Along Came A Spider, due late July of 2008 is much more modern and heavier from what I hear. I personally prefer that style. This album will work for fans that can't get past the early to mid 70's period of Alice, but for those of us that like the more guitar oriented heavier stuff, Brutal Planet or Dragontown is a better choice.
