Apart from the fact that the native cuisine is atrocious, and the coffee tastes like it was drained off a corpse, this is a rewarding place for the traveller.  London is vibrant, exciting and impossible to fully explore in a lifetime, and places like the Cornish coast, the Yorkshire moors, and the Borderlands are magnificent.  Many of the major cities are industrial hells, but the smaller towns and villages are often jewels.

It is expensive, granted, but its worth it.
