Whoever says that a dog won't starve itself is dead wrong. I have had my dog for 8 mths and tried everything. Orijen, Wellness, Merrick, TOTW... I did my research and thought I knew what she needed. Then I went to a trade show and met a wonderful sales rep for Royal Canin - she gave me a sample of the special 30 and seemed to know what she was talking about. I still wasn't sold on it.. but held onto the sample.
My dog was very lethargic and SKINNY!! I took her to the vet and bought a supplement to add to her food to get her to plump up - and that didn't even work, because she simply just would not eat. I tried a raw diet, and the dog wouldn't even eat that!
Finally, we were visiting my brother - and my dog wolfed down his dogs food. I asked what it was, and it was Royal Canin. So, I gave her the sample - again she wolfed it down.
We bought our first bag - and she has been eating regular meals - we can no longer feel her spine and hip bones... and she has a ton of energy! It's like we have a completely different dog.
I highly recommend this food - my dog is healthier than ever.
