Approximately the equivalent of misspelling potato (e).  Which got more play?

Granted, it's the same basic problem of misspeaking, but the difference is that Quayle was attempting to educate a sixth grader apparently smarter than he was. Picture this: Obama correcting a child who had just answered a question about the number of stars on the American flag. That would have been newsworthy ... and hilarious. I would pay to see that.

if the flag, being held by a conservative journalist, did indeed have 57 stars on it. The card being held by the teacher, seen only by Dan Quayle, contained the word "potatoe. "
