I like the addition of the exclamation point, which seems to jump out at whoever is looking. And seeing as how we rate with star ratings, I think the stars are very fitting.

Plus, login/logout is a lot more convenient to access, being on the right hand side instead of the left.

thanks for the feedback on the login item relocation. I was a little worried that people who use the site a lot would be annoyed by the move...hehe :)
