Lifetime Fitness Club 4

Ok first of all, to all of you complaining about the cost of membership, well that's just ridiculous. You know exactly what you're getting into when you join, everyone knows it's not the cheapest gym in town, if you want cheap, basic (and dirty), join Golds. If you want something a little better but without the frills: join 24 hr Fitness. It's not like Lifetime has a monopoly in the gym world, there are other options.
Secondly, I go to the North Austin location and I am completely confused by the bad reviews for this club. The locker rooms are AMAZING (again, go to Golds)and the child care is better than most of the preschools around here. If you are expecting your kid to receive one on one treatment, and never catch a cold - hire a nanny. You pay an extra $6 a month to get 2 hrs of childcare a day. That's pretty reasonable.

The reason you can't bring your own floaties to the pool is because it's a safety and hygiene issue, and is stated very clearly in the membership packet, and on signs around the club. The reason the guy wasn't all sweetness and light when you violated the rule, was because he's probably sick of people not paying attention. They provide life vests for kids, which is more than you'll get anywhere else.

I've never encountered a rude locker attendant or anyone else for that matter, but I'm also not expecting the person who likely makes $8 an hour picking up after myself and a bunch of other messy, spoiled soccer Moms to be the happiest most fulfilled person on earth. Would you be?

Lifetime isn't perfect, but neither are any of the other gyms I've been a member of. I've manage to achieve my personal goals of staying in shape and being healthy; my kid has fun in their childcare, and I've never caught funk from the pool/locker area or gone home crying because the staff were just "so mean" I am not always the nicest person after being stuck in an office all day, and people pay a lot more for the services that my company provides than $80 a month at the gym.

thank you, thank you, thank you. I work as a locker attendant at lifetime, and get paid 7.50 an hour, which is ridiculous. After spending 5 hours straight in a locker room an realizing that I only made around 37 dollars, it's quite depressing. Not to mention, I get quite annoyed with the slobs (most of the soccer mom types) and I am not the most cheerful person there. It feels so nice to have someone actually acknowledge that, haha.

THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE COSTS PER MONTH COME FROM CONSUMERS WHO ARE IN AREAS WHERE THE RATES KEEP CLIMBING, THE STAFF GETS RUDER AND THE CLASSES, facilities are restricted due to child care programs which members are unfair to members who do not participate in those children's programs. We pay our due to have access to basketball, pool, climbing walls, raquetball courts but these areas are often closed to general membership to accomondate parent/members who are paying monthly dues PLUS inflated childcare prices. LIFETIME IS DOUBLE-DIPPING
