I just don't get it when people say that a career as a homemaker is not fulfilling or that people who are homemakers have no skills. I'm currently NOT a homemaker, but if I ever get married and have children, that is the path I would want to choose to take. I already have skills (working on a Master's right now, do therapy at a children's home and work in an office) so I don't think becoming a homemaker would take those skills away. And what could be more fulfilling than moulding and gently guiding the lives of children? Certainly not approving sales and mergers or other things in the business world. And to the person who said homemakers watch TV all day...as in any occupation, there are those who do and do not do a very good job. A homemaker who watches TV all day is definitely not doing a good job. Like anything, the job is what you make it and the ideal homemaker would be too busy in the community (PTA, MADD, etc.) or other things (home schooling, herb gardening, etc.) to daily engage in such a frivolous task as watching TV.
