Merrick 4

I am about to switch from Canidae ALS to Merrick Turducken dry for my shih tzus as Canidae switched recipe and manufacturing plant. But I am concern with the ingredient - garlic in Merrick dry dog food. How much garlic is not poison to dog?? Any comments please? Thank you.

A small amount of garlic is fine for dogs. The amount used in Merrick's dog food is very small. It is supposed to be good for repelling fleas and for digestion. I know people who feed Turducken and have never had a problem.

small amounts of garlic are ok...just as long as your dog is not eating whole cloves. I feed my dog Turducken, Grammy's Pot Pie, and Puppy Plate along with about 5 or 6 canned rotations.

I used to put garlic powder on food when I had dogs that were picky eaters. Small amounts are fine. Garlic & onions whole, are not recommended.

Garlic is only toxic in extremely large quantities. Many high quality pet foods are removing garlic just to be safe and to keep with the changing times.
