Gmaria___, do not forget that there was nobody that held David accountable.One would think King Davids heart would be so filled with Godly sorrow that he would have instantly repented of this sin, however he did not repent until the sin was made known to him publicly by the the Prophet Nathan. After his confession and TRUE repentance, the Lord did forgive David of this sin. But, there were consequences to his sin and despite his fasting and prayer for his sick son, David paid the ultimate price and lost his son to death because of his disobedience. There is NO sin that goes unnoticed before the Lord - no matter how you rationalize it or say we all fall short, or say grace covers everything.
