Perry Stone 1

I watched him for the first time this week, and as someone with a degree in theology, I found his teaching to be heretical at certain points, and in the least laughable. He seems to operate from the most basic of Christian teachings, then expounding as he desires, making it up as he goes. His biblical quotes are proof texted, his examples incredibly over analyzed, and his facts always questionable. My friends and I had a lot of fun watching him try to support his ideas with faulty reasoning. If you do like what you are watching, I challenge you to look deeply into what he is saying, ask a pastor who actually has an education to help you understand it, and check what he is saying against the ancient creeds of the church that should give us the foundation of what we believe.

livin4dios, I think perhaps part of your displeasure with PStone is maybe, just maybe, your coursework through seminary was absent of the true foundation of our Christian faith. I'm sure like most seminary curricula there was little coursework understanding that Jesus (Yeshua) was a Jew and the Hebraic life He lived. He did not wear a ROMAN toga or look like he has just walked out of getting a shave and cut from "supercuts". In all fairness I'd like to hear your response and know how much time and coursework you got studying YOUR Hebraic roots in seminary since your initial review of him seemed to tout your "education" As stated before if it's like many of the other curricula that are offered by our Greek minded institutions of higher Christian learning, probably very little.

My displeasure with Perry is not as you would assume. My coursework here at seminary, as well as in undergrad, are both biblically based and anchored in understanding the whole of Scripture. I am not a liberal-minded simpleton. Instead, I understand and respect the authority of Scripture. Needless to say, I have taken Hebrew, and multiple Old Testament courses. Unlike Perry, I understand and read Hebrew. My main concern and problem with this guy is that he has no education, and if he does, it is a bad one. He constantly mispronounces Hebrew terms. He stated that manna means "What is it" but that is NOT true. For example, he stated that the "stripes" on a coriander seed signify the stripes on Christ when he was crucified. This is not anchored Biblical truth. This is, sadly, an active imagination and coincidence. It is not the intent of the Scripture in Numbers to state this. That is one example of his many teachings that are really wrong. I won't even start with his prophecy. It's really just wrong. Just because you can simply find some similarities between the Bible and occult ideas doesn't mean that you can piecemeal verses together and come up with whatever you want. I understand the Hebraic roots of Christ very well. I have 7 years of schooling, as well as experience in preaching and exegesis that really do show how bad a process Perry is using. I'm not perfect, and I'm not claiming that I know everything. I will say that Perry is not a heretic, just simply misled. His teachings are wrong on many accounts, but they are also benign, not really violating any major creeds or foundational Christian principles. Be careful when watching him. Don't take everything he says as fact. Read the Scripture for yourself, and inductively seek to find the Truth with the Holy Spirit. Test Perry's teaching against that of history, and find if he is in agreement with those who have come before. You might be surprised how wrong and simply sad his message really is.
