John MacArthur 3

I am not interested in this nonsense in America. America is a society that is too pre-occupied with everything about sex. It is sickening, it is shameful for Christians to take Jesus Christ out of anything. He has given us the comandements to love one another. Stop there. Don't disect it. Learn how to love if you don't.

The American Christain society has refused to deal with the issue of persecution of Black Americans--till this moment--Black Americans continue to be religated to the bottom of the society. It is the voodoo--the curse on the Euro-Americans wh refuse to change.

Racism is pervasive. Discrimination at every level of the society. Eleven o'clock on Sunday morning is the most segregated time in America. What did Jesus Christ say about condemning, ostracise, and reject your neighbors based on his skin color, or his back ground whatever that is. I am still puzzled by lack of change in America--especially the Christian community.

We must change. This is my concern--profoundly.

I am far from John MacAthur's biggest fan, and I have a lot of issues with him and his teaching. However, I fail to see how what you wrote has anything to do with John MacArthur. You don't refer to him or name him once. Are you accusing him of the things that you stated? I just found your point unclear of why you have posted it in this particular area? Explain please.

The question was 'what is your rating of John MAcARthur as a TV evangelist' NOT America as a society OR Civil rights.

I think what the original poster, if s/he is familiar with Macarthur and GCC, is getting at is Macarthurs hate filled sermons that deny "saved" status to all but a very, very few who completely agree with his narrow and ultra-conservative interpretation of the Bible. It is also very telling that there are very few non-white members of his mega-church. When I was a member of that church twenty years ago, I saw that the church targeted a very narrow segment of society: white, upper middle class, straight people, with privilege given to males. That's not to say that others don't attend or belong to GCC; the population any given Sunday is huge. But look who is in leadership. GCC is as much about culture wars as it is about faith, really moreso.
