Office Depot 1

Had a horrible experience at downtown Bellevue Office Depot today and have decided I will never shop there again -- they lost my several hundreds of dollars of business per year over $1.50: the manager told me that a 70-page blank spiral notebook was normally priced at $6.00 (what?! -- they are $1 or less everywhere else). I had spent 40 minutes shopping for various additional school supplies (third time I've been there for my kids this school season) and had picked up the last 70-page blank spiral notebook with Ford auto cover in the 50% clearance section. The regular price appeared to be $2.99 (this item's bin didn't have the yellow sticker on it but had the original $2.99 white price tag/bar code). When the cashier tried to charge me $2.99 I mentioned the 50% off, the manager got involved and insisted it was originally $6.00 and the $2.99 was the sale price. I told him that was absurd and the company would lose that entire sale (I had picked out over $50 in items) as well as future business if he didn't reconsider. He said no, he was right, I was wrong, the notebook was $6 normally, $2.99 now and take it or leave it. I left, and will tell everyone I know to avoid this store -- it is horrible and I hope it goes out of business! Got the same notebook at Factoria Target for 79 cents about 15 minutes later. Should have gone to Target or FedEx/Kinkos -- shame on me for wasting my time at this dump.

Ally, you should feel silly for acting so juvenile. Companies like Office Depot are in business to make money. They are not set up for you to barter prices (which is what you did when you told the manager to reconsider). That manager is paid to protect his store's profit. You were rude and should feel awful. By the way, if stores like Office Depot go out of business (like you want), there will be no competition for the Wal-Marts and Targets. Competition keeps prices down and selection up.

ally, you intelligence is a little lacking. im sorry to say. You are obviously one of the those people who thinks they should be always right. if i was in the managers position i would do the same. Its not a swap meet or a garage sale. You dont get to choose your price by being a jerk. I feel sorry for all who know you. have a GREAT day!

you are in idiot Ally! Did it ever cross your mind that maybe costumers browse through the clearance section all the time and that MAYBE it was placed in the wrong bin? Office Depot would be happy to lose your service!
