William Ayers-Political Ally, Neighbor 1

So, Obama is somehow complicit in Weather Underground activities that took place when he was a child because he has since raised funds for poor kids' schools in Chicago and so has Ayers.  Is that about it?

I'm a bit skeptical of those that paint them as beer buddies, but they did sit on a bunch of committees together, so no, that's not it.

You're right-- going after Obama with a smear that's this obscure, this far-removed, and this baseless reinforces the perception that McCain and his hired mudslingers have been unable to find anything substantial or legitimate with which to criticize.

At what point does a legitimate question become a smear? When it is not properly answered or it is evaded. Obama never disassociated himself from Ayers' deeds any more than Ayers has. Did CNN or MSNBC press him? No. That is why it's still an issue. Is the Hagee comment then also a smear?
