A.C.O.R.N.-Community Activists/Former Employer 1

What's the deal with all of the ACORN bashing? ACORN is an organization that has a long history of helping the poor. (Repubs hate it.) In NOLA, ACORN helps people with free tax filing for low- and moderate-income communities.  They have a Lead Poisoning Prevention program helping low-income families protect their children from lead poison and a Voting Rights program that helps to fight to protect the voting rights of Louisiana residents in future elections. You can see why repubs are seeking to demonize ACORN as it helps the very people who the GOP is least concerned with and who are most likely to be Democratic voters. Pass it on.

Get the facts on the attempted voter suppression that led to the resignation of Rove, Gonzales, and other top Justice officials.

Matt...it's good to know that ACORN does more than commit voter fraud, but it does commit voter fraud in big ways. What you're saying here is that Al Capone should be glorified for passing out free turkeys on Thanksgiving. Nothing ACORN does can excuse their nefarious tactics...

Automatt commented 424 days ago.
Well, I can tell you don't like them for political reasons...

I would say the exact same thing if they revived dead Republicans for the same reason. I can't believe anyone would condone this criminal organization...

Ridgewalker commented 424 days ago.
I'd be ashamed...

Automatt commented 424 days ago.
I haven't seen any convictions, just a lot of allegations and noise from the noise machine. They help the poor, which is an unforgivable offense for repubs.

Ridgewalker commented 424 days ago.
That's just plain ignorant...

Ridgewalker commented 424 days ago.
Unless you hear something 25 times each day in Soros' Media Army, you assume it's quakery....

Ridgewalker commented 424 days ago.
I can't deal with all of your assumptions...

Automatt commented 424 days ago.
Oh right, all allegations you see Steve Doocy rant about are automatically true. Of course!

Ridgewalker commented 424 days ago.
Psssttt...I don't watch TV....

Ridgewalker commented 424 days ago.
Wow...all of these comments were posted out of order...

matt, stay with me now, the question about Al Capone is a valid one. Should all of his illegal acts have been forgiven because he gave away free turkeys on Thanksgiving? It doesn't matter who likes them, or what their politics might be.

The Acorn issue is false outrage. There is no evidence, nor is there really any suggestion that Voter fraud is taking place or will take place. Acorn is accused of registration fraud. Pain in the ass for county clerks, but will not affect the election.

numbah16tdhaha commented 419 days ago.
*coughs "voter fraud"* Not to mention that their advocacy for easy loans helped with our economic crisis. Of course none of this is new info.

EschewObfuscation commented 419 days ago.
matt, another law and order democrat. It would seem you want all those county clerks to turn a blind eye. Why not just enforce the laws as they are written? Isn't that what most Americans want?

No need to pick on republicans; we are all not the same. I wish people would vote for the person and not embarrassing themselves by being partisan.

fitman commented 419 days ago.
Apparently some ACORN volunteers registered obvious fakes. Whether this was done in an extremely boneheaded attempt (guaranteed to fail and bring disrepute onto the organization) to commit fraud or as a dirty trick intended to smear ACORN may never be know, but what's obvious is the fact that no halfway intelligent person could possible imagine this action would have any direct effect on any election.

Ridgewalker commented 419 days ago.
Have to disagree, fitman. According to the Early Voting Information Center, 1/3 of all votes will be cast by mail this year. BY MAIL. This means that Scooby Doo (deceased) from LickMineToo, Arkansas doesn't have to show up to vote. Think about that...along with the 100s of 1000s of bogus registrations....
