George Harrison 3

The Beatles music was never about leads and solo's. It was about blends and sounds ..and they did that better than anyone else. George created a signature sound with that smooth slide and string bending you hear on Abbey Road.

George Harrison not only epitomized taste, but also sophistication and multiculturalism in everything from his jazz-inflected "T'il There Was You," his anticipation of Wire-era Jeff Beck via Harrison's scintillating solo on "Old Brown Shoe" (much more sophisticated than Macca's over-rated "Taxman"), the glittering slide work on, oh, everything from "Something" to his posthumously grammy awarded turn on Marwa Blues, not to mention the sting and cut of "How Do You Sleep" and "Back Off Bugaloo."

Range. Sophistication. Multicultural. Style. That all makes for a great guitarist.
