William Ayers-Political Ally, Neighbor 5

If I hear how he was "only eight years old" when Ayers was this or that, one more time, I'm going to go to.. to.. argh.  He certainly wasn't eight years old on September 11, 2008 when Ayers made the comments that he had made.

Should we expect Obama to sit down with Osama in a few years and say, "Oh well, I wasn't aware" or make comments about how some Republican did it at some point or other- like a child in a school yard saying, "But he started it!" And this is the sort of leader that some want to lead their country?

Can someone tell me what the difference between Osama and Ayers is?

Hohw strange that Obama should not be aware of Wright's "God Damn America" views and his hatred of America, or of Ayers similar views?

What sort of institution hires a terrorist (can someone tell me where the word 'former' comes into play here? He hasn't repented) to teach?  Can anyone answer me how a couple of nuns in Baltimore can be put on a terror list of sorts, and this guy who actually committed crimes against his country....

Is teaching?

This is a guy who's girlfriend was blown to bits in the basement of a house while building a bomb that was supposed to go off at Fort Dix.  This is a guy whose friends were bank robbers.  Whose wife was a terrorist herself and who thought it was a good thing that Manson and his supporters had killed the "pigs". In 1970, she declared war on the United States of America.

These people are treasonous, at the very least and weren't flying under the radar.

Hell, thank goodness that Ahmadinijad has some common sense and is not wanting to meet with Obama without preconditions.. I'd hate to see the tax payer dollar on that shindig, what with having to fly over Rezko, Ayers, Wright, members of Acorn, and lord only knows who else is lurking in Obama's closets (perhaps his former room mates will be the ones to offer up refreshments.. a line of coke for the first fifty at the door?)

Pfft. President Obama.. wanted Imus fired, but has no issue with Ayers or Wright.

i'm not sure if this type of campaigning is going to work this year.

You're probably right, and I think it may be partially due to the way the mainstream media is not only seemingly excusing this behavior, but so deeply in the pockets of the democrats that they are no longer reporting and allowing people to listen to the facts, but telling people what to believe. McCain has several things going against him- his voice/tone/presentation is not as commanding as Obama's (Charisma), the extremely low approval rating of Bush, the economic crisis which is being blamed entirely on Bush, and the fact that you have Obama being funded by a variety of sources so that he's outspending McCain what.. two to one? Acorn aggressively registering voters and pushing them to vote Democratic, more money to spend on adds, more stupid people who are likely worried they're going to lose some of their inter-generational welfare entitlements. But as for 'type' of campaigning? Obama is not running a clean campaign himself, he just feigns as though he doesn't have any sort of control over what his people do- over what they say about Palin, over the 30 plus laywers going to dig up dirt on her in Alaska, over comments about McCain not being able to use a computer, and so forth.

I just feel that people are more concerned with the two wars we are in, the collapsing stock market, and the giant expenses our govt is taking on than all this character assassination stuff. And the crazy thing is... it's not even character assassination of Obama. It's character assassination of folks who are only remotely connected to Obama. Folks want to talk about issues, and it would seem that direction of the polls agree with me.

"remotely" connected to Obama? That's a good one. And btw...we are in one war.

It's difficult to have any sympathy for figures such as Wright, Rezko, and domestic terrorists Mr. and Mrs. Ayer. I agree with you Magellan that people are worried about the economy, they want to know how the issues will be solved, how their lives will be improved, and they want change. If anything, this race has brought out a wave of passion from all corners of America and opened up discussion. I don't view it as a character assasination of Obama, but a character investigation. Neither candidate is necessarily the best person for the job, however experience and judgement count and in light of just how much controversy is attached to Obama and the people that he has associated with, time after time, in such a short time given his age and national exposure/experience as a senator... should be alarming, should raise eyebrows. Had it been once, perhaps that could be shrugged off. Palin had issues with some guy she firedin Alaska and Obama sends up 30 lawyers. Obama has mounds of skeletons burried in varying depths on the lawn he purchased from Rezko.. and it's a character assassination? What about the victims of Ayers? The people who worked at the places that he bombed? The tax payers who had to foot the bill to investigate/find him/etc? What about those victims? What about the character assassination of White people when Obama says "typical white person" when he speaks about his grandmother? Obama is not a victim, regardless of what his supporters say or the sermons of Black Liberation Ideologists on which he was weened.

lix, I know you're right about Obama. You know you're right, too. Too many lapses in judgment and a press wiping his fingerprints off anything controversial. I just don't think it's the right way to elect a president. The press used to provide a vetting process. This year, they are rickshaw runners, and guess who's seated in the rickshaw.
