Sarah Palin (sugg Jamie McBain) 4

Every politician who has strong views and the courage to express them publicly is polarizing.  Palin certainly qualifies.  For Palin to ascend to the top of this list and Obama and/orBiden to be considerably lower shows the liberal lean of RIA and the denial on the part of those left leaning partisans.  Heaven help this country if McCain somehow wins.  The hatred is way over the top, and your US press is leading the pom-pom pumping.

I'd submit that hatred and extremist language has been used pretty heavily by both camps. I don't see either having either a monopoly on hatred, nor either having much of a moral high ground.

I sadly agree. Remember when the post election period was characterized as a time of healing? Me neither.

I remember a review you wrote near the end of the 2004 election when you suggested that it wasn't a time for GOP supporters to be spiking the ball in their Democrat neighbors faces, or words to that effect. I tried to find it, but couldn't. (I was pretty sure it was you, anyway) It seemed every bit as appropriate in this election. I don't have a problem with hyperbole, but when opponents are being tagged as anti-American and unpatriotic (which folks on both sides have done) because of a difference of opinion, it makes me sad. And it makes me glad I'm out of the game, professionally at least.

Irish, it's on an old list, "Celebrities You Pray For" under "George W. Bush. "

How about the latest "news" story of the RNC paying $150,000 for clothes for Palin and her family? Is the liberal press THAT desperate? OK, then, who paid for Obama's clothes? Michelle's (who's getting fired?) ? The kids'? No DNC money better be spent on any of them. Let's see the receipts. Full disclosure, you know? Are we sure this is news? Are the polls tightening or something? What about Pennsylvania?

EO, Edwards got a pretty hard time for his $400 haircuts, right? I see this stuff as trivial too, but I don't think it's one way.

This year? Any examples where the press has scrutinized Obama? Anything?

EschewObfuscation commented 406 days ago.
None? Me neither. When the campaign is over, whatever will they do with themselves? If Obama wins, will he feel the need to have a press secretary?

And how odd, with 10 days to go, of the four very polarizing candidates directly involved in this election, Sarah Palin is, far and away, the most polarizing. Over many posters on this list, does this reflect accurately? Or, is the kool-aid being distributed by your liberal press being consumed?
