Jentezen Franklin 1

Let us who have believed on Jesus as our Lord and Savior remember whats most important...the good news that God sent his only begotten son Jesus to take upon himself the sins of those chosen from the beginning of time the be saved, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, exhausted God's wrath that we might not have to experience it for eternity, He imputed His righteousness upon us that we would be seen as righteous in Gods eyes, and rose again that death would be defeated we would have eternal life with Him in Glory! If preaching does not revolve around Christ and the life we called to live according to the Bible in Him, then there's something terribly wrong going on. I went to free chapel from '93-'06 the emphasizes on paying tithes that God would bless me...30, 60, or 100 fold. I remember him saying things at an alter call like, quoting form the Bible, "if you dont acknowledge me before man, i will not acknowledge you before my Father who is in Heaven!" implying that if you are afraid to come up infront of everybody in congregation for an alter call then Christ Jesus will not intercede for you in heaven, so i went up no LESS than 20 times. I remember prosperity teachers came and taught such as kenneth copeland, rod parsely, perry stone, joyce meyers, jessie duplantis, and others, and Franklin himself preaching that God wants you to be wealthy and healthy, and if you are not being "blessed" in your finances and health, you are doing something wrong. The Gospel of Jesus Christ was not clearly, and truthfully taught to me the whole time I was a member at Free Chapel. I think thats extremely sad. I have heard a sermon or two thats wasnt totally off from what the Scriptures actually meant but thats it. For the most part its all about speaking in tongues, getting revelations, getting the things YOU want in this life! These philosophies and ideas come from misinterpretation of the Holy Scriptures which derives from a want for power and money! Jentezen Franklin is not far from being a False Teacher if not one already! Please read the Bible and seek the truth of the scriptures and not want you want to hear. Look at how the Bible flows contextually and you will see that franklins teachings dont match up!

Check out his new book, Believe that You Can! That will give you an overview of the gospel preached at Free Chapel (which I think, having attended since 1991 and consider very balanced). The book is all about accomplishing God's purpose in your life. He also has an altar call at the end of every service - many come forward to receive Christ as their Savior.
