Drysol 1

I'm fourteen years old, and excessive underarm sweating has ruined my life. My arms are always plastered to my sides, because i get the biggest sweat rings. I only wear black or white, and always wear a hoodie over everything. I cant wear tee-shirts because you can see the sweat marks. No deodorant works, and I'm beginning to lose hope. I cant even talk to my mom about it because its so embarrassing. A few days ago, I ordered Drysol online with my moms credit card, and am anxiously waiting its arrival. Does it really work? Or just for a short while? This is my only hope.

I'm sixteen years old , and don't worry , I went through the exact same thing ! After a few years of sweat rings everytime I went out into public I started sewing square layers of cloth on the inside of the underarm area of my shirts . Some shirts it shows through , so I started buying shirts that had loose sleeves (which happened to be in style) and sewing layers of cloth into all my shirts . This made it so I could still wear colors and thin tops , and usually (if I had enough layers sewn in) the cloth stopped or drasticaly slowed the sweat from showing ! It takes some practice to get the cloth into correct position and disguising it .. but it really helped . Just sew each of the four corners down with a single stitch. I was also embarassed to tell my mom about my sweating problem , but one night I told a friend about it..and she said that she knew a bunch of people who had the same problem ! I looked it up on the internet and found out that hyperhidrosis is actually pretty common , we all just have learned to hide it from the world . So straight away I told my mom , and I strangly was soooo happy to tell someone that I didn't even think about being embarassed . I'm the social butterfly and this had been making it awkward to give hugs , be close to my boyfriend , put on a backpack , raise my hand in class and just a million little things , that I'm sure you already know about ! Antiperspirants didn't work for me either , and I had given up on a cure , and tried to focus on the blessings in my life instead of this 'curse'. But then my mom said maybe we could try the doctor and see what she says . So we went , and it wasn't awkward AT ALL ! Doctors see things every day that are a million times worse , my doctor knew exactly what I was talking about when I said I thought I had hyperhidrosis(over active sweating) and she said people came in alll the time saying the exact same thing , and she prescribed drysol to everyone . So I got drysol , tried not to get my hopes up because it's just a stronger antiperspirant , and I sweat soooo much I thought it would be impossible to cure ... three nights ago I tried drysol for the first time . The next day ? I went out with friends for the day , and for the first time in yeeears I DIDN'T SWEAT A DROP ALL DAY! I wasn't even damp . My underarms were boneee dry all day ! I was so happy I didn't know what to do with myself ! The next day I went to chearleading practice where of course I would usually be sweating alottttt under my arms but no , there was NOTHING , sooo completely dry , I actually had to put moisturizer on my underarms because the skin was so dry . So don't give up hope !! So definatly tell your mom , the support is great ! Also be prepared for your problem to be cured :) :p oh , right , and by the way drysol is pretty extreme . Your skin will itch and tingle a lotttt , but DON'T SCRATCH , don't shave on days when you're going to be using it ( I knoww prickly underarms feels gross , but sweat is worse ) and I use moisterizer if the itching is too bad to sleep , and it calms down the itchyness alot . Vaseline is great too . If you have b.o. you'll want to use a deoderant during the day still , and after the first few days of using it every night(put it on RIGHT before you go to sleep)you can space out the applications of drysol to once every few days or once a week even , for some people even longer ! aaand I think that's it . :) sorry this is so long , but don't give up , and TELL YOUR MOM !! good luck !! :D

I hope you have found that this is working for you. It is important to follow the directions and make sure you pits are dry after putting it on. If it doesn't work, you should go see a doctor. There is help out there!
