Innova EVO Dog Food 1

Does any one knows what's a good food for my 5 months old Min Pin, I had him on Royal canin before, then some one recomended me EVO small bites, he start getting softer poos  than before, then last sunday he got really bad with a really bad diharreha and vomit, we had to take him to the vet and he was there for 24hrs on fluids because he stop eatting, after that the vet gave me a bag of Medi-cal and thats from Royal canin too, after spending CAN$700 in this hospitalization and medicines i'm thinking in going back to Royal canin puppy 33, he was perfect with that befor I gave him that EVO crap.  Any other ideas please.......... Thanks

Diarrhea can have many causes.... If it was the food - did you switch slowly? Best way to switch - add 1/4 every week - it takes 4 weeks, Royal is one of the worst foods... If your dog doesn;t fo well on EVO, try Blue or California Naturel or Fromm or any other food that has grain, but overall better ingredients. Not every dog does well with high proteins and fat. Switch to a better food than Royal, but do it VERY slowky.

Thanks for your reviews,I got a bag of Innova for Puppy. I started mixining it really slow with the Medi-Cal I have right now. Let's see what happens

Hi LFHZ, my dog too does not do well on such high protein levels. I like the idea of no grain, but need to keep the protein levels down or she has the same results. My girl does extremely well on Taste of the Wild (Bison & Venison/High Plains Prairie or something like that) and Before Grain (Buffalo). Nature's Variety Instinct and Wellness Core are good too...just my dog prefers BG and TOTW. If your dog does better with a diet containing grain, Merrick, Eagle Pack, and the standard Innova, Wellness, and Nature's Vareity are good foods. I agree that Royal Canin isn't the best food, but it is far superior than Purina, Pro Plan, or other grocery store brands.
