Similac Alimentum 3

My son is 9 weeks old. He cannot tolerate the milk or soy proteins so the doctor told me to switch to Alimentum or Nutramegin. He spits up so much with this formula and seems to have so much more gas, especially at night since he doesn't sleep for more then two hours at a time. I was told that spitting up with this formula is pretty normal because it's so thin and broken down so much. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm about at my wits end. He's gaing weight just fine, but it just seems that as soon as he eats he's spitting it right back up. He didn't do that with the regular or soy based formulas. He had stool problems with both of the other ones, but not spit up. Any advice, especially with the gas and sleep issue?

Add 1 tspn of rice cereal per oz because this formula is thinner, or get rtf cuz that's alittle thicker. as far as gas, give gas drops or gripe water. don't lay him flat after feeding lay him at a 30 degree angle, but the cereal added should keep it down.every week you can add alittle more cereal, my son is 11 weeks old, he has acid reflux and milk-soy allergy-he's on nutramigen and prilosec, and I add 2 tspns per oz, and he drinks around 4-5 oz . plus the cereal should help him sleep at night because he'll moe full!!
