Heartbreak Ridge - 1986 4

Anyone who ever served- especially in the Corps- will easily pick up on about a dozen things here that are, to put it mildly, unrealistic. Eastwood and the cast overcame that with relative ease. This was actually one of the first films in the genre where Clint showed something of a more human side, so to speak. Well worth watching.

This is one entry into Eastwood's canon that I've always floated this question - "If he filmed it later (late 90's - early 00's) would it have been a better film?" The subject matter and script are fine- it just seems a little dated at times. Just a thought/question.

After Gulf War 1....had that been the setting, perhaps. It would have been better from my perspective had it been more realistic. I think you are referring to the early 80's stuff...like Stithc Jones/ Ayatollah of rock and roll-a. LOL.
