My experience at Zales has been the worst ever!!! First of all, I have a 2 ct wedding ring from them, a diamond bracelet, diamond anniversary ring and a diamond necklace. My wedding ring has been sent in once for a loose stone. I can handle that. I worked in jewlery for a long time and I understand things like that happen. My bracelet has been sent in once and just broke again and my necklace is fine (so far). HEREIN LIES THE PROBLEM...my anniversary ring! It has been sent in 4 times because multiple diamonds had fallen out or were loose. It's not even a year old!!! I got it Valentines day of 08. When I talked to the store about it, they were VERY unhelpful! Conviniently enough for them, they only had record of my wedding ring being sized once and my Anniversary ring being sized once. Mind you I already said my wedding ring had to be fixed, my bracelet had to be fixed and my Anniversary ring had to be fixed 4x!!!! NO RECORD OF ANY OF IT!!! Hmmm...

Zales never once apoligized for the inconvinience. One of the ladies there even said this, "If your husband had spent more on the ring (he paid $400 for it), this wouldn't happen. He should trade it in for you because its not like it was an expensive ring anyway! Oh and by the way, in order to be eligible to trade the ring in, he needs to spend two times the amount he originally paid for this ring on a new one!" WHO SAYS THAT TO A CUSTOMER AND WHY WOULD I WANT TO SPEND MORE MONEY WITH YOU WHEN YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS SO BAD?!!!! Well, my ring is in the shop getting fixed for the 5time in a year! It doesn't cost me anything to fix it because my husband purchased the extra warranty (that goodness) but its such a hassel and just shouldnt be! Clearly something is wrong!!! No one deserves to be treated like this no matter how much they paid for a piece of jewlery. I WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM ZALES EVER AGAIN!!!! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND YOU DO SO EITHER!!!

It sounds like you dealt with a very bad sales associate, however, being a former Zale's employee, maybe I can help you out a little. As your husband purchased the extended warranty on your anniversary ring (which, by the way is something you should always have on almost any jewelry, cause it just about always needs to be fixed, sized, polished, dipped, etc., and who the heck wants to pay extra to have anything like that done?!), Zale's does have a "three strike" policy. If a piece of jewelry comes in for repair the 4th time, for the exact same problem, Zale's will replace the item or give you the credit toward a new item. If that's the case with your ring, talk to the store manager; if the store manager's professionalism is as poor as the sales associate, ask for the district manager's card and call her/him. All the Zale's/Gordon's stores have the same policy (it's how they find out if a certain design from a vendor is defective and then they pull it from all their stores). Just remember, you get the best results when you're acting in a professional way, even if the person you dealt with didn't.
