Diamond Pet Foods
2
just bought a 40lb. bag of the diamond naturals lamb and rice formula. economy has forced me to buy a more cost effective dog food. the ingredients in this looked ok. normally, i buy innova, wellness, canidae, etc. i am hoping my two mini schnauzers like it. i am already mixing it in with their old food, i switch slowly. so, will keep you posted in a couple of weeks.
I previously rated this a 3 star food because I had not yet fed it to my dogs. It has been close to two months now. I think this is a wonderful food. my dogs both love it. coats are great, stools are normal, once or twice they poop a day. no runs or any nasty stuff. I am currently feeding the naturals lamb and rice formula. i don't understand the low ratings. this food has better ingredients than some of the brands that have higher ratings. i know diamond had their problems last year, but they have fixed them. forgive and give them another chance. that is what our country is supposed to be about, i mean, look who got elected president?
I think its a great food, my dogs love it. what more can you want?
Well, I have to now give this food a lower rating. My one year old mini schnauzer has been chewing her paws. Three of the four paws are just blood red between the pads. The vet says it is probably a food allergy. And since she has never had it before, I can only assume it is the lamb and rice. Apparently, a lot of dogs are allergic to lamb and the food is a little grain heavy. I am in the process now of switching to them both to Taste of the Wild. Maybe she will do better on that. The search is still on for a food that both of my dogs will do good on. Sorry, I was hoping this food would be "the one" as it is very reasonably priced. So, Taste of the Wild it is for the moment.
