Breakfast Club 3

I liked this film a lot.  If the list was about favorite movies, I'd give it a four.  As a dramatic movie, three stars is as high as I can go.  Two reasons:  First, I think of it as a comedy first, a comedy with some dramatic elements.  Second, there is that scene toward the end of the movie whee they are sitting in a circle "sharing".  This is probably my least-favorite scene in the film PRECISELY because it betrays one of the basic tenets of drama:  "Show, don't tell.".  Don't sit around a circle and tell me your sad stories.  Show me!!  When we (the audience) learn about John's abuse, during the confrontation with Andy, that is more dramatic than anything that is revealed in the circle scene.
