I bought an 1100 Competition a few months ago. I am recoil sensitive due to a neck/shoulder injury. I shoot 28ga & 410 bore most of the time because of the light recoil. I had been looking for a light recoiling 12 ga for Sporting Clays. I have a 391 Urika in 12 and 20 ga- both recoil much more than the 100 Competition. (I have several over-unders as well)The 1100 Competition has very light recoil; it is a heavy gun, almost 10 lbs. The chrome-lined back-bored barrel and lengthened forcing cone, along with the weight, make this gun a joy to shoot. I have shot 175 rounds of 1-1/8 oz loads in an afternoon of skeet & clays with no sensitivity to recoil! I have shot Benelli, Beretta, Franchi & Browning semi-autos that recoil much more(to me, anyway)I love this gun- I can finally shoot 12 ga all day with no issues. It is well worth the price. It comes with 5 chokes made to fit the back-bored barrel; the wood is fantastic; the teflon coated parts help in keeping it clean.
I recommend this gun highly- the combination of features make a wonderful, easy shooting, good looking gun. I recommend shooting one before you buy.
