Hummer

reviewed by frenchiefastwaves

AM General introduced the Hummer in 1992. This full-size, civilian adaption of the military Humvee offers 13 m.p.g. in the city, 17 m.p.g. on the highway and comfortably seats four people.

Hummer 1

I'd love to take one out in the desert...That's where all hummers should stay. I couldn't believe these things could be street-legal...Turns out there not allowed everywhere with their light curb weight over 6000 lbs...Their drivers also get 3 - 4 times more tickets than anybody else! Be careful with these guys cause they feel so high up there that they think they're above the law.

Not to defend the obviously insecure drivers of these behemoths, but - like the drivers of red sporty cars - they probably get more tickets due to conspicuity.

Actually the reason they got the most tickets was because the drivers claimed they could not see pedestrians or smaller cars on the road or even some road signs. But the sheer size of the car also doesn't do the drivers any good.
