Keybank 1

When I signed up for my account, I was allowed to withdraw funds from my checking account as soon as I deposited a check into the ATM. Then, a funds availability policy change letter was sent with my paper statement, which I normally discard. It stated that funds that could be withdrawn after depositing a check into the ATM were limited to $100. I made an ATM withdrawal without this knowledge, because I normally do not open my paper statements. I withdrew over $100. I was charged an overdraft fee, even though the check was good and was for over $100. Then, each week thereafter, I was charged a recurring overdraft fee for approximately 3-4 weeks. The total fee was approximately $125. I didn't learn of the overdraft, because the branch had incorrectly entered my phone number into their computer system. Even after complaining twice, the number was still incorrectly entered. I finally received a notice of the overdraft in the mail. I went to the branch at 3030 Secor Rd,Toledo, OH 43606 and explained my predicament. When it became clear that no help would be forthcoming, I lost my temper and started shouting. I was told to leave by Donald B Smith, which I did, and I apologized to Donald B Smith as I left. I later found out that my account was closed, thereby preventing anyone from the corporate office being able to access my account and credit any funds whatsoever back to me. Any time I have attempted to go back into the bank and calmly explain my point of view, Donald B Smith tells someone to call the police, even though it is clear I am not a threat, if he is present. Todd Surgo, the branch manager, is pleasant and hasn't treated me like Donald, but has done nothing to rectify the situation and doesn't intervene when Donald treats me like a criminal even though I am a victim of their scam.

I went to topclassactions.com to file my complaint, as well as ftc.gov to file another complaint. Just use copy and paste. Keybank has been sued before. Topclassactions just settled a lawsuit agaisnt Bank of America for unfair overdraft fees. BofA actually has a better track record than KeyBank, which has treaded the line of legitimacy for over a decade. KeyBank was actually sued recently for fraudulent student loans.

Take the time to submit your overdraft claims to both places and hopefully action will be taken.
