National City Bank 1

This is the most kniving, thieving bank I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They will do whatever they can to get you to overdraw. They will keep a fee pending until your account is low enough that it will cause you to overdraw, and then pull the money! Then they will charge a $36 overdraft fee and another $8 A DAY! They will sent you a notice in a letter, and who knows how long it will take to arrive! Do NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS BANK AND ALWAYS READ REVIEWS!

I must say I ignored the bad reviews for this bank and decided to join under the workperks program. Immediately I started having problems..I deposited my payroll check on Friday, funds were not available til Tuesday. I wen to the bank to find out whats was up because according to my online statement and my calculations there should not have been an overdraft. I get there and find out what you see on line is not what is really going on..of course the reason was they held my deposit. I was highly upset..so I was there with my next deposit that day and I said I need to cash this check which was over 500.00 and clear the overdraft..then I want to close this account..they had charged me 108.00 in o/d charges which had me 36.00 overdrawn. I'm told I cant cash the check because I have a negative balance. I have to deposit my entire check. I said I cant have money tied up for days again, the teller said maybe we could look at your register to see where you didnt have enough money..i said I had enough money, you just didnt release it. Needless to say I took my check to my other bank but did not get to go back to National City the same day and as others have stated began accruing the 8.00 charges per day(no I wasnt told about that either when I signed up). When I was there about the overdraft etc. I asked the teller, why didn't I see all the overdraft fees etc on my online statement she said you really arent supposed to go by that. I said any activity on my account should be reflected on my statement online or whats the use of using online banking. She had no response for that. Even had the nerve to call her supervisor over to look at my check and verify that it was a payroll check(Fedex) and then said so its a good check. Duh, so was the last one I deposited. I cannot tell you what a horrible time I have had with this bank. Please pay attention anyone who is thinking about using them. DON'T DO IT!!! People who have been them for years are leaving them everyday because of shady dealings. Some people overheard me talking about my experience and named the bank without me telling them, they had the same problems. I tell everyone I can not to go there. I hope they have a lawsuit brought against them and they have to pay everyone back.
