I have to give this statement 5 stars, 'cause it is stupid, however it appears to be the product of a student of Joe Goebbels and not something actually said by Bill Clinton.

UPDATE:

The winger who made up this Clinton 'quote' - and the wingers who repeat it as gospel - are apparently primarily motivated by the fact that their boy W actually confessed his hunger for absolute power on several occasions.

I'm sure there are plenty of real stupid things said by neoliberal centrists like Bill Clinton and/or Barack Obama, but perhaps none quite so idiotic and plentiful as those uttered by members of the obstinately ignorant extreme right and/or left.

Call me on the fence as to its actual utterance by Slick Willy. I wouldn't believe 100% without a good video or audio clip, but I can see this dropping out of the mouth of all kinds of politicians who don't realize that they work for me.

I've never believed any politician really works for me, and I certainly can imagine many of them wishing they had dictatorial powers, but this 'quote' definitely looks like a phony to me. Even if he thought it, Willie's too slick to have said it (just as Bush was too thick to have avoided saying virtually the same thing... more than once).
