Kirkland Super Premium Chicken and Rice 2

Something has changed in the Kirkland dog food formula since October 20, 2008. Have used it for 17 years for my Aussie Shep. with great results. Last October, I noticed that the color had changed. It was lighter in color, more like a tan color rather than the darker, meatier looking of years past. As soon as I fed it to Charlie his stools became runny and he had gas he never had before. Called Costco on this, but never received a reply from their buyer, etc. Anyone else notice the same?

Hi,

I have been feeding this food for about 5 months. It looked pretty good from the ingredients list, and dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews gave it some praise, a 3 star review - pretty good for a 'bargain' dog food. The first few bags cause no problems, but I also have noticed a recent change in my dogs' stools, pretty runny and they were gassy for quite a few days. So, now that you corroborate my experience I'm wondering if it is the Kirkland food. I have been using the chicken formula and thought I might try the lamb formula. Has anyone else noticed a similar change or can any additional information?

The change I have noticed has been in the past month. It may not be the same one you are discussing. My dogs sporatically became ill after being on Kirkland for 2 years and it was most certainly the food. We have sinced switched and they are now fine.
