Time Warner Cable's Navigator DVR software is unreliable. Borderline fraudulent when they advertise that "With DVR, Never miss your favorite TV show again!".

All the problems below are reccuring problems. They have happened multiple times over the last 12 months.

- DVR randomly does not record shows that it used to record with no warning. Shows that have recorded for months will randomly be skipped.

- Sometimes recording log will have meanningless error message that "System was unable to record the porgram". Other times there is no entry at all in the recording log.

- Listing displays different tittle then what was recorded. Specific example: Listing lists "House" as being recorded (which was the objective) but "24" plays instead of house.

- Does not let you record certain series as a series. Does not present the series option and there is no way to tell it to treat it as a series.

- Phone Support organization is clueles about what to do when it skips recording shows. There is no one that can help you with these problems.
- They ALWAYS claim they have never heard of these problems before.
- Repeatedly suggests to send someone out to the house who will tell you when they arrive that there is nothing they can do about it and that its a software problem. I've let them send out service people multiple times who then tell me there is nothing they can do. I've now started telling the phone support not to waste the money when they lamely suggest to send someone out to my house.
- Tell you to get anew box which fixes nothing because I have used all their boxes and they all exhibit these problems.
- Support people do not have access to any bug databases nor is there any way that a user can submit a bug. (Which is more irresponsible technolgoy management on TW's part)
- Support group has absolutely no tools to diagnose the problem. No way to look at the history of the box. No way to dump anything. Its not the phone support people's fault. They have been given anything to work with. It's like opening a rapair shop and not giving the service techs any tools to use.

- Above problems occurs at different times on ALL versions of their boxes, non HD and HD.

I have rated Time Warner Cable VERY LOW myself since I have has many issues with them. BUT, the DVR has been working perfectly for us! We really have not missed any shoes and we use the DVR features frequently
