Wellness CORE 1

I found this site doing research to find out if anyone else has had problems with this food. We feed both of our female pits the dry Wellness Whitefish and Sweet Potatoe and have always mixed in just a bit of the wet because our oldest has bad teeth. We changed the wet to Core a little over a month ago now. Right away we saw an insane increase in water intake but we never ever thought it could be the food! She even tries to drink standing water outside that is how thirsty she is! We took her to the vet and they did a water deprivation test and felt that it was diabetes insipidus. Then we spent over $100 on the medication for that but when her thirst didn't decrease the vet had us come in again to do more testing! After spending about $500 I was at my wits ends. Her skin is horrible, she has lost almost 10 pounds, and she shivers all the time! Now neither one want to eat. I happened to talk to my chiropractor today who mentioned he had a similar problem with his lab. When I found out he also had switched to Core, a light bulb went off in my head. I will be contacting Old Mother Hubbard today. And I hope they are willing to do something to compensate for my vet bills. I've been worried for a month that my poor dog was dying...this food is horrible!

Your Dog has serious health issues, it's not the food your Dog is simply unhealthy, probably even dead at this point but you don't want to tell the truth here.

My 13 year old cat had diabetes and then it went into remission. I recently switched him to wellness core so that he would have a lower carb diet. He is now doing exactly what your dog did in your description. He is drinking obcene amounts of water and peeing constantly. I was very concerned his diabetes was back but after reading your post I'm beginning to think it's from switching him to Wellness Core. I am taking him off that food immediately. Hopefully it's a food issue and not diabetes. Thanks!

The food didn't cause the diabetes is the cat overweight, it went in to remission so odds are it would come back.
