For those of you who want to vilify Orijen, and extoll the virtues of Puppy Chow and others please visit some of the following websites with your dogfood in hand and compare to the first link for additives and supplements to the food.
For the second link this is what standard meats are expected in most if not all grocery store and some " high-quality " vet approved foods.
When reading the ingredient list on my Large Breed Puppy Orijen I recognize 50 of the 54 listed ingredients. I can honestly say I do not get more than 10 or so before having to jump to the internet for explanation on any Iams product or Mainstay or other.

Diseased, disabled, dying or dead livestock, known as 4-D livestock, commonly find its way into commercial dog food as a cheap source of protein.
These diseased, chemically treated carcasses are sold to rendering plants.
Rendering plants are not controlled by government oversight and legally render all kinds of animals, including roadkill and euthanized pets picked up from veterinarian’s offices.
