Turbo Tax by Intuit 1

There is a bug in their system.

During the final final review, it give a alert about me not posting a wages, tips line.

This is after the other normal review and it is after they asked for payment for their online service.

So I did it again even though it made no sense.

It doubled my wages and now I owed $30,000 in taxes instead of $5,000.

So I tried to fix it by going to the income page but it looks fine and is not double.

But when I get to the summary it is double.

It is ghosting a duplicte W-2.

It took me 90 mins to get my call answered and then the lady had no clue what to do. I asked for the supervisor and then she hanged up on me.

The next morning I called again. They said I would have use the CD version and start all over again.

I asked for a refund. They say they have a zero refund policy for the online version.

Turbo Tax sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sqtrock32... The error message you described sounds like TurboTax detected a duplicate W-2 entry with incomplete information. Rather than deleting the duplicate W-2 it appears that you may have re-entered the W-2 amounts (thus resulting in a doubling of wage income). If you go to the W-2 section, you'll probably see two W-2s listed each with similar information. My guess is the first one is the one that transferred from last year (without amounts). When you went to enter your W-2 this year, you may have entered it as a completely new entry. I've seen this happen before and that's why we have this diagnostic in place.
