Liberty Travel 1

Hi all!

Since this swine flu & Mexico news really started getting serious this past Tuesday, my fiance & I who are getting married May 29th (30 days!) decided to cancel our Puerto Vallarta, Mexico honeymoon. We booked back in Sept. '08 with Liberty Travel b/c when you google them you'll find that they are the "leaders in honeymoons". Note that I have never used a travel agent before, but I figured that a 10-day honeymoon would require special attention! It was also one less thing I had to worry about. I was told that my travel agent would take care of me, watch for good deals before my balance was paid, etc. Come to find out 4wks. ago I got this urge to go on Expedia, the normal travel assistance I use and I was heated when I found my exact trip, dates, times, resort, EVERYTHING was $1050 less than what I was paying. I called my agent right away, only to argue for 2 days before they would match it. They are SO ridiculous! I now am in a battle to get my trip moved to Jamaica, it has been nothing but stress and BS trying to deal with this. Don't buy that their insurance covers "everything", it covers illness, etc. but not the swine flu! I went into it very positive b/c I would never imagine that our President would be telling us "Do not travel to Mexico from now thru July 29th", and me not being able to get my money back. This is really ridiculous. There is much more to the story, but trust me go to Expedia or another travel website. I say Expedia b/c at least twice per year for the past 4 years I have not one problem with them. Does anyone happen to know Liberty Travel's corporate office number? That is how I can across this site, I've been searching for a corporate number all day. I won't ask to speak to the "manager" at the agency, b/c my agent is the manager! HA, what a joke! Hopefully I'll get it all worked out, but for now it's really hard to jump back in to honeymoon planning when this is the finish line before the big day! HELP!! Any reccomendations?

I have a TON of info on corporate if you are interested. If you still have time RUN away from Liberty. We just used them for our honeymoon and it was not a nice trip at all. Once we returned we have gotten no help other than a severe attitude from corporate. PLEASE if you still have time, DO NOT USE LIBERTY!!!!

The corporate number is 1-201-934-3897. Actually you will get Dawn, who is also useless. Ask to speak to her supervisor, June M. This is the point I am at. Let's see if June calls me back today, 10/23/09????? If not I will tell everyone I know at work, social events, etc. not to use Liberty Travel due to very poor customer service and all around unprofessionalism. Bad Taste

I tried to communicate with the corporate office too after Liberty botched our honeymoon. Dawn is of no use in any matter, as is June. My husband and I had several discussions with June and got no where. She was VERY rude and arrogant to use, she has no Customer Service skills at all. The only result we had with June was becoming more angry and appauled with Liberty and their business practices. You may get a call back today but you will not get anywhere with them. We ended up filing a civil suit against them and are waiting for a court judgement. Liberty is absolutely HORRIBLE and we have been spreading the word to everyone.
