Blue Buffalo Dog Food 3

This review is for the senior formula. I have a 9 year old Welsh Springer and a 10 year old Shepherd mix. They were on this for a while, and I noticed that their coats dulled, and they had alot of gas. After switching them to a combination of Merrick canned and Orijen Senior dry, I noticed HUGE improvements both in coat and in energy. The gas situation improved, and so did their bad breath. I believe that the Blue Buffalo line is quality, but for my dogs I feel that the protein in this food is too low at 18%. Not every food is for every dog.

I am not sure why you would consider feeding "Senior Formula"?
I would feed the regular Chicken formula. It is a higher protein and fat, unless your dog has alot of health issues and no energy; I would not say "senior".
I will agree w/you not every food is for every dog.
Good Luck

It was recommended by my vet to feed them senior food.

The lower protein is for a senior dog because they are usually less active. If your dog is still active you could feed an adult food or find a senior food with more protein!
