Many people in this country would applaud that. Whenever someone mirrors Adolph Hitler's ideas (not uncommon), the comparison can be appropriate. Marriage isn't entirely about sex.

At the time of the founding, nobody had thought to classify people as homosexuals.

The founding fathers apparently never imagined a world in which non-Europeans would be considered human.

Lena's link was kind of O.T., but I got her point, at least I think I did. God Condemned a lot of People in the Old Testament. And I think as Christians (and this is something I am guilty of too) I think we tend to Pick and Choose what we believe out of the Bible. I am not talking about you Personally Mike, but I am speaking in generalities and am careful to include myself in that Sentence. Personally, as a Christian, (though, admittedly, not a good one) I always thought that God had bigger things to worry About than Gays.

Everyone has their own beliefs Gris and I see your point. I have worked with gays at work and didnt treat them any different then straight people. When it comes to marriage tho, I dont think its normal for 2 people of the same sex to get married. Part of getting married with the opposite sex is to produce offspring ect. Im not a religious man, but I do try to live by the bible on most issues. You can clearly find several verses that condemn it, that should kind of give you a hint. Hey thats just me tho.

Get government(s) out of the marriage business altogether, and leave the marriage deal up to churches, etc. Then government(s) could register civil unions for all adult couples who want one, and bingo! - equal rights for all.

At some point, society will decide what its ready for and what its not ready for and forcing the issue often just makes people crazy, like what you see in most of this thread. My thoughts on the matter remain the same. Equal rights are fine and dandy, but lets not get caught in the age old trap of using the elevation of one group as a mechanism to push another group down.
