Should Gays Be Allowed to Serve Openly in the Military? 3

Gays are feminine by nature; therefore they should not fight on the front lines. Maybe they can serve in some rear capacity...Sorry...bad idea. Decorate the barracks or something.

They can be a receptionist, or push papers

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
They could probably do a job in the military that doesn't neccesarly include fighting, like many women or even some men do, such as taking care of the sick or wounded soldiers, or building weapons.

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
I am not so sure about a monument for gays, SandK.

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
they could fight in the military, but it just wouldn't seem as likely. As Wiseguy, said before, they are feminine by nature to a degree, but they can still serve in the military, whether it be fighting or something else.

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
If they did something significant, then I could somewhat understand a monument I guess, but obviously if nothig good was done, they would have no reason to build a monument in thier name.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
The idea that 'gays are feminine by nature' is idiotic in the extreme.

It's just that you think 'gay' everytime you see an effeminate man, and 'not gay' when you see a butch guy.

In my hometown, back in the '50s, the local hair salon keeper was a flaming willowy fashion plate. His wife resembled a female olympic weight lifter. Between them, they had 9 children - the 'normal' way.

As for gays in the military:

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
You can disagree, Fit, it doesn't make you right. Fact is they are feminine by nature.

fitman commented 179 days ago.

Apparently, Wiseguy has lived a very sheltered life, and probably watched too many gay pride parades on TV.

Victor83 commented 179 days ago.
Wise...get back to me when fit puts on a uniform....

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
I only grew up with a gay brother. yeah...what do I know

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
Funny Vic

Victor83 commented 179 days ago.
As with most leftists...fit never served and never would serve; yet fit is an expert on this subject...NOT.

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
Whats funny is that I happen to believe that gays should be able to join in a civil union. Guess Fit didn't get that memo.

Victor83 commented 179 days ago.
Wise...personally, I believe that the feds should be out of the marriage deal altogether.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
Many years ago, Fit told the nice draft board lady he'd be perfectly willing to join his neighbors to fight off a Russian invasion of New England (Fit's quite proficient with firearms), but not interested in close order drill.

Let's see, who else (never) served:

Victor83 commented 179 days ago.
Fit, if there is one thing you and I could agree on (and it would be only one) it is that Bush was not a good President. He did however, serve. Do people of your ilk never tire of lying?

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
I tend to agree, but gays would be SOL because the vast majority of churches won't marry them.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
Victor has - probably inadvertently - hit upon the most logical solution to the gay marriage problem:

Get government(s) out of the marriage business altogether, and leave the marriage deal up to churches, etc. Then government(s) could register civil unions for all adult couples who want one, and bingo! - equal rights for all.

(Not sure how the marriage thing migrated over here to the equal rights for gays in the military thread, but that's my 2 cents, anyway.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
Bush, apparently 'served' himself out of going to Vietnam. It must be nice to have connections.

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
Fit, its one thing for you to trash your thread. Don't bring fucken Bush into this.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
Why would a gay person wish to belong to a church that hates him or her?

There are plenty of nonhateful denominations out there... and even some primarily gay ones.

The most prominent 'gay church' is Metropolitan Community. It's led by a guy named Troy Perry who preaches that gay men need not be faithful to their spouses. I think he's a hypocrite, but what do I know?

fitman commented 179 days ago.
Uh, Wiseguy...

Your buddy Victor brought Bush into this.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
And, now we've wasted 25 comments on this thread, when we could have been setting a record over there on the Gay Marriage deal.

;-}

Victor83 commented 179 days ago.
Fit...you lying sack of shit...you brought Bush into this with another of your BS URL's.

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
http://www.awolbush.com/whoserved.html? who does this belong to?? was it not the first mention of Bush?

fitman commented 179 days ago.
Victor and Wiseguy, you ignorant sluts...

Did I point out the fact that Bush is on that list?

Victor83 commented 179 days ago.
Fit...I feel the need for a shower...having even lowered myself to the point of responding to you.

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
WHAT LIST! What the hell are you talking about?

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
Ughhhh. Are we still bashing Bush? I think Fit mistuk Bush for John Kerry on that list.

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
I need to cut in line here and re-enter this thread from the top.

Ari...aren't you the one who wished that all gay people would **ahem** go away and went as far as posting a review that was so hateful...encouraging Americans to wipe out all gay people...that magellan had to pull the review? (easily the most hateful review ever posted here). And now you're encouraging respect for the gay community and that we honor them? I encourage the latter, of course, for anyone that deserves it, but man...you are a work in progress. How can you expect anyone to trust, or respect your opinions?

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
Man, idono. he's getting his lists mixed up

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Yah...and his opinions.

Shit! I forgot...this is Saturday. He loves Gays on Saturday...

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
Evil....who won?

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
wait, im lost, whos Ari?

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
I didn't read Kings posts, I should have.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
In the opinion of this alleged "pinko", nobody "had to pull the review".

Censorship is unAmerican.

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
Mike, I have no idea whats going on here anymore, ha ha.

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
I'll type how ever I want to.

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Ari is Sucking...he has gone through a lot of names. His first one was Aristotle...and is still known by many as Ari...affectionately...

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
I was trying to agree with ridge but hes shitting on me, so I don't know?

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Fine, Mike...but whatever point you were trying to make was lost on me. It was unintelligible. So be it.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
Geez, some of these hyper-masculine 'straight' guys sure are super-sensitive.

;-)

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Man...you came prepared with an attitude. Don't know why, but all I did was ask for some clarification...

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
I may not be as artiqulet as you but this....

I agree with you! Jeez

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Yah...sensitive would be the word...

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
I apologize but telling me "say it in english" comes across as a smart ass to me. Im not as good a speller as you lol. And I confuse Ari with someone else, so that was my fault.

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Well, thanks for the clarification. I wasn't assaulting you. How could I when I couldn't interpret what you wrote (and deleted).

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
There you go again. Whatever... I deleted it because I had mistaken ari with someone else so I just deleted it all together.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
If this keeps up, we're gonna have two threads in contention for the record.

;-)

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
I'm happy if I get the message...but I only bash grizz reviewers. You and I have never really crossed paths, so I don't know why you'd be so quick to be defensive.

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Now I'm waiting for Ari's next scathing review of me...:o

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
I wasn't trying to be. I originally wanted to give you props but when you picked on my vocabulary, yea it pissed me off kinda.

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Mike...you must have pre-coceived notions of me. I thanked you for your clarification...why keep looking for something that's not there? Let it go...

fitman commented 179 days ago.
Re: Ari... I don't think SuKing's gonna like being called "Sucking".

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
Anyway.... Maybe your right? I been having a rough few days and then when you add alcohol it doesn't help lol. I think I did jump the gun a bit.

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Where did I pick on your vocabulary? I merely said that I couldn;t understand what point you were trying to make. I honestly couldn't. I don't know you. I don't read a lot of your stuff. I had no clue as to your point-of-view. But, you fixed it. Let down your guard. You're safe. I wasn't bashing you. If I was "bashing" anyone, it certainly wasn't you...

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Fair enough, Mike. I've been going through a real nadir here, myself, which is why I haven't been reading/contributing a lot. If I sit still too long, my body seizes up. I don't drink, but maybe I should give it a try...

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
I know. I agree with you that Ari can't have it both ways, and I was confused because I didn't see an Ari posting any where? After reading what you said, I agree its not right to flip-flop like that.

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
Yea, my bad. I'll buy ya a beer lol.

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Magellan yanked it. He called for the death of gay people!

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
Sick stuff...

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Couple of more typos and we'll have this thread up to 250-300 in no time...

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
I need to take a walk. Feel better. Mike...

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
Even I know my limits. Yea, as I stated in a similar post, I have worked with gay people and even had a gay friend. I treat them as equals. I just dont agree with their lifestyle. I would never go as far as to wish death on them or ANYBODY no matter how much I disagreed. Thats just stupid.

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
Yea, Im good now.

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
Hold on.... I'm eaiting for the right moment to comment.....

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
And i agreed.... :D

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
Walking....theirs something I need to do more of.

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
Stay with drinking...

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
Doin' that now, but its diet beer. Not bad tho

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
Ridge?

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Oh...back to fit...this is Lawgellan's domain and he clearly said that there would be zero tolerance for "hate" on the site. We've all seen a lot of hate, here and I would agree with him on this one...it was sick stuff...

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
More drinking, and more walking. Actually I think is would be better to do one at a time, tho.

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Yah, Biscuit?

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
was wondering if the walk was over with. :)

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
I have to walk past the puter on my way out and wanted to respond to fit's comment, first.

POOF!

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
I think that we can all agree on that (zero tolerance for hate). Who could forget when childofsatan wished death on me!? Then good ole Mag stepped in.

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
mike, you serious?? If so, when was that?? Obviously before I came.

numbah16tdhaha commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
Um... as to the original post, only half of them gay fellers are feminine. You gotta have a bitch and a butch, I tell you. Its even true for straight people. Ever see a really whipped dude whose chick just rolls over him? He's the bitch...

numbah16tdhaha commented 179 days ago.
We having death threats today?

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
Not today, but before.

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
don't worry, it wasn't me.

numbah16tdhaha commented 179 days ago.
Reminds me of when allaboutallah or whatever that dude called himself went around talking about the impending death of the infidels...

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
weird, very weird, there were some weird and evil people on RIA before I came.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
I find it hard to take seriously anything 'childofsatan' posted.

And I must commend the powers-that-be here on RIA for heading my plea to leave childish attacks on me up for everyone to see.

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
I never read Sukings, it's worse than torture. Language aside, the guy is perfectly nonsensical.
Evidently he writes cogently enough to be hateful.

Biscuithead commented 179 days ago.
Am quitting for the night, will check back tommorrow.

Astromike commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
It was not that big a deal. He was the only one posting at the time so it looked bad. Hes gone lol. All my homies came in to back me up anyway.

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
Num, as to your comment. It's not accurate. How many dual hot dikes have you seen together.

I know...not enough.

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
I think your more wrong when it comes to guys.

numbah16tdhaha commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
I guess no rule is absolute, but I find the bitch/butch combo to be the most workable.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
I'm reminded of a favorite saying by a dyke I once knew (not Biblically):

"Butch in the streets. Fem in the sheets."

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Okay, a lot of this is based on so-called morality and stereotypes...ie: "I don't hate them, I just don't condone their "lifestyle" (as if there is only one gay lifestyle), or if they wanna wear fatigue g-strings, 'they' should be kept in the shadows, in support positions. How about some facts? Are there any facts on, for instance, how a unit's overall performance is affected by the presence of gay man, as opposed to the presence of women? Hate crimes? Hazing? Isolation? Unequal treatment? This would be interesting to find out.

fitman commented 179 days ago.
If I'm not mistaken, segregationists brought up issues like the possibility of Hate crimes? Hazing? Isolation? Unequal treatment? in arguing against racially[sic] integrating the armed forces. Obviously, military discipline nipped these potential problems in the bud.

I believe Israel and most European countries allow persons of all legitimate sexual orientations to serve openly, and - although one must admit Americans aren't as psychologically or socially advanced as these populations - they don't seem to be suffering any major problems in their armed forces as a result of moving into the 21st Century.

numbah16tdhaha commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
Hazing should happen regardless of who you are. Oops... outed myself as pro-hazing. Just don't go overboard, I guess. Back to our regular programming, I've always said that I hate distractions in a unit. That being said, we had a guy in my unit that we were pretty damn sure was gay... and it didn't really matter. This was in a front line combat unit, by the way.

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
Would knowing he's gay have had a chance to enter your thoughts while in the shit...during a pinch decision? Would it have caused you to hesitate because he takes it up the ass in some far off time, in a land far, far away?

numbah16tdhaha commented 179 days ago.
Exactly... who's gay when you're getting shot at?

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
With absolutely no experience in military combat, it would still be my opinion that inspite of the occasional mope who won't relent, after having gone through training with all sorts of people, that a bond of trust would occur...would actually be required and that a good DI would recognize and fix that sort of problem. Am I right?

Ridgewalker commented 179 days ago.
(Edited 179 days ago)
I believe that your answer, "...who's gay when you're getting shot at?" is the definitive answer to this question/debate. There's a certain profile that the military looks for and when it comes to combat duty they look for the wolf. This quality can be found in anybody. I never had any doubts as to whether gays should be allowed in the military. But, not everyone...gay or not...has that wolf in them. If they do and want to serve our country in combat...what's the problem? It's true that across the board, a higher percentage of gay men are more effeminate than straight men, but, then again, there's a lot of straight men who teeter on the edge and throw like girls. It's all voluntary and I'm pretty damn sure that Marines can't boast of long lines of interior decorators waiting to get in. Being concerned that the wrong guy is being put up there in the front lines seems like a non sequitur (Latin for "it does not follow").

Wiseguy commented 179 days ago.
I'm glad we're back on the topic of the review, which was a cheap shot at humor. I’m sure there were quite a few gays that were drafted to fight in our wars; I don’t recall anything too bad coming out of that. (I could be wrong)

numbah16tdhaha commented 179 days ago.
By the way, the Spartans were VERY GAY.

Victor83 commented 179 days ago.
So were the Jedi. That's why Vader got out.

numbah16tdhaha commented 179 days ago.
The Jedi aren't gay! Maybe Obi-Wan and Anakin were a little questionable, but as a whole I'd call them monks with a few exceptions, and since the Jedi are a diverse crowd, its all good. By the way, Juhani from the Knights of the Old Republic video game is totally a lesbian.

Gris commented 178 days ago.
So the consensus is that Bears can fight, but not Fems?
