Rainbow Cleaning Systems 1

I gave it one star because choosing none was not an option.
I did not buy one and here is why:
Every last demonstration the guy tried showing us how our "Can't more" (what he called our kenmore) was a terrible machine. I called him out about it and he had no answer. Such as the hepa filter spits out dust into the room??? How he demonstrated this was he ran our vacuum and held his "high def lamp"(standard incandecent light bulb) three feet away from the exhaust which allowed us to see the occasional piece of dust fly by. I pointed out to him that if he is holding his lamp three feet from our vacuums exhaust it is much more likely that it is clean air blowing dust which is already in the air up past the lamp. I told him to hold the lamp closer to the vacuum but her refused in fear of me proving him wrong.
His whole demonstration about how our vacuum clogs and stops working was utter bull. We have been using that vac for a year and a half, it has a 3/4 full bag and it hasn't lost an ounce of suction.
He kept trying to show us how much dust was in our air with his lamp and we didnt see anything.
He kept touting the better air flow (more than 100MPH!) which makes absolutely no sense from a physics stand point because air flow and air speed are two totally different things. Once this was pointed out he also had no answer.
He attempted to vacuum our 9 month old puppy which made her want to bite him.
After refusing to buy over 5 times he starts attempting to rehash his arguments that didnt work but this time decides to fake cough mid sentance and say "sorry, its the dust" before continueing his spiel.
The thing that really turned us off at first was the price. $2900 for a vacuum with less power than the one we currently have which was $500. But once we established the price is an issue he continued to tell us while he packed up that they make them for $50 but sell them for such a high price to be "competitive with the other high end vacuums" which also makes no sense as it was more expensive than most of those "competitors" that he showed us.
He also made false claims about how we will replace our vacuum every 5 years and spend thousands on bags and parts meanwhile my mother recieved her kenmore vacuum 25 years ago as a wedding present and still uses it today. she has only needed it serviced once and it cost her $50.

I also can't help but notice the majority of the reviews here are from people who sell them.

PS cleaner sterilized air is not better. It weakens your immune system and makes you MORE suseptable to diseases when you leave your home.
just something to htink about.

well first of all, had you paid attention to the presentation you would understand that suction has nothing to do with the ability to clean. And that your kenmore that is a year and a half old hasn't lost its suction because no vacuum loses suction, it is the ability to clean. Oh and i can assure you it doesn't cost $50 to make, the reason the machine is the price that it is, is because it is so well made. In regards to your mothers kenmore that she has had for 25 years, i'm sure that if she took a look at her manual it would say right in there that it needs to be replaced after 3-5 years and there is a big difference between a working machine and one that just turns on .

You must be mentally challenged. Sit down and think about it. How on earth does suction have nothing to do with it's ability to clean? Do you know how a vacuum cleans? The same way as your precious "Rainbow Cleaning System". It pulls air through the end of a tube directed at your carpet and the movement of that air - known as suction - pulls dirt with it out of the carpet and into the vacuum. Even though I am a university graduate well versed in physics and engineering I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Tell me, what does a rainbow do differently that makes it clean any differently than a regular vacuum? If you say anything about flowing air then that is suction, no way around it. Also, the Rainbow guy said specifically, other vacuums lose suction.
As for the 25 year old kenmore; why would anybody specify in their own user manual that their product will only last 3-5 years? That is terrible business. Also why does it need replacing? The motor is still running, it's still pulling dirt out of the carpet and off of the floors, why does it need replacing? The only thing that needs replacing is the occasional bag and a filter every now and again.
Although I agree that there is a difference between a machine that works and a machine that just turns on, I don't beleive you have any place saying that as you have not seen or used my mothers old vacuum.
You seem to blatantly disregard the rest of my review in which I state facts, you know, the things that Rainbow salespeople avoid. This is what my article must have looked like to you:
"Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Rainbow sucks blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Terrible blah blah blah."
Let me guess. You bought into the propaganda they pitched at you and just bought yourself a shiny new rainbow, right? I can tell because you are telling me that I am wrong and the Rainbow is right while failing to provide any kind of proof or factual evidence.
You can spit that "water is better than a hepa filter"garbage at me but the reality is that it's not. They clean the same except the reservoir in the rainbow is disgusting to deal with, smells like puke and needs to be changed after every use while a hepa filter is light, and you just toss in the trash once every few years.
If you choose to respond telling me I'm wrong, do me a favour and prove me wrong, don't just quote your Rainbow salesman or the Rainbow manual.

Well obviously you are incompetent and do not listen to a thing you saw. If you could go over youre carpet with your vacuum and then with the rainbow you will see how badly your vacuum sucks. Also manufacturers put the replace within 3-5 yrs in order to sell more products. Most vacuums arent well made so they want you to buy a new one. Rainbow has a 21 yr warranty which is must better than maybe a 6 month or yr warranty. And a hepa filter is worse than even just a regular filter and clog much faster. And who cares if you have suction on a vacuum, it doesnt mean a thing, if you lost air flow you arent picking up anything.

OK, I'm going to put this as clearly and as gently as I can...
The sales guy did the whole thing where he passes my vacuum over one spot 50 times and then passes the rainbow over that same spot once and shows us the dirt it picked up. I told him that it proves nothing to me and to make the comparison fair, he should run the rainbow over one spot on the carpet 50 times and then once with my vacuum. The result was the same, my vacuum still picked up dirt from the carpet that the rainbow couldnt do in 50 passes. His demonstration only proved that even after 50 passes with any vacuum you will still get dirt out of the carpet.
As for the hepa filter; once again you are just quoting what the sales guy told you. If it really clogs that fast, then how come after two years of weekly use, I can pop off the hepa filter cover and still feel air flowing through it while the vacuum is running? According to you it would clog and thus not allow air through but that is clearly not the case.
As for the 3-5 years; not once in my manual does it say to replace the vacuum. Not only that, but nobody that I know has replaced a vacuum in under 5 years.
And for the suction vs. airflow issue, I will state this one more time. Air flow and suction are directly related. The flow of air is caused by the suction, so for you to say "who cares if you have suction on a vacuum" I reply "You do, because without suction there would be no precious air flow that you are giving all the credit to."
You see, suction is the process of matter moving rapidly from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure. The measure of the flow of that air is your air flow. Therefore, airflow is determined by suction.
