You shouldn't be voting unless you are familiar with the artist's key work. It's actually a (very) dishonest vote to do so otherwise. Just because you haven't heard of somebody or their songs doesn't mean
you know all you need to know about rock, rock and roll, or its roots or precursor music. An honorable thing to do if you don't know about an artist is to either retract (redact or pull) your vote, or at least make it into a neutral vote by voting 3 stars. This artist, a superlative one for her day, back in the day, a rock and roll pioneer (among other things she accomplished), does not in any way deserve a pejorative. You can't even learn more about any subject in this world, music or whatever, if you don't know anything, unless you remain non-judgmental and keep an open mind.
