Charter Cable TV 1

Charter is a lying cheating piece of crap that took complete advantage of my elderly grandmother. When they came to intall the bundled package, they disconnected all the phone outlets, except for the one in her spare bedroom. They told her that her answering machine could no longer be used in the family room or her bedroom. The cable would be out for days and Charter refused to help, saying they could not predict when service would be available again.
When she finally cancelled and switched to AT & T, (thank God for them), the technition told her that all the wires in the phone outlets in the house had actually been cut. It took the AT&T guy all day to re install all the phone outlets.
If you have elderly family that don't have the capacity to fight for their rights, please keep Charter away from them. Charter and all those lying creeps can rot in hell for creating such undue stress on my poor elderly grandmother.
They don't deserve a star at all-I was forced to give them one. Now I feel compelled to call the BBB and report what I am sure is improper business practices.

I am so glad I finally found this info! I am so disgusted with these people. I have never in my life come across a company that is so dysfunctional & Incompetent. Not only have they been charging me for services that I no longer have, they shut my phone off 4 times in the last couple months, when I do not have my phone through them. I have given them 400.00 (in 3 payments) in a months time. They shut my phone off again yesterday. I have not had a phone service with them since April. They shut off my cable (again) yesterday, We have been getting charged for cable when our cable box does not work! It took a month and a half to get them to finally get us a new one. That was after about 10 phone calls. We have been asking for an adjusted bill for months, this is why we had a past due amount. Not only are the service reps idiots but there is never any records of any of this when you call them back. They refused to give an extension or their name so I could speak with the same person. I have to tell the entire story again every time I call. They are rude if you ask them to talk slower, I cant understand half of what they say because the thick accent. Today I was hung up on because I asked to speak to the so-called supervisor's boss. I finally got someone to tell me who the owner is and that's how I found this site.
What pisses off me the most though, I live in a duplex next door to my 91 year old grandmother whom I care for. Two night's ago someone came @ 9:30 pm with out warning and took my grandma's phone box. She had no phone service for two days. She no longer has charter for cable, she switched back to dish. She has had the same phone number for 43 years (at least) and has never had her phone service turned off. She is on life alert and can not be left w/o a phone. These people are so out of line, I cant believe it. I gave a seriously condensed version of this whole senerio because I am so sick of repeating this story.
SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE TO STOP THIS! Please if anyone has any idea how we can stop them and expose them for the crooks they are, please let me know! Vonda4life@live.com
