San Antonio Spurs

reviewed by zuchinibut

The San Antonio Spurs drafted DeJuan Blair from Pittsburgh with the 37th pick, Jack McClinton of Miami with the 51st pick, and Nando De Colo of France with the 53rd pick. They also traded for the rights to Robert Vaden of University of Alabama-Birmingham.

San Antonio Spurs 5

The Spurs seem to always do well without the benefit of low draft picks, and 2009 looks no different. Any college basketball fan will remember DeJuan Blair outplaying #2 pick Hasheem Thabeet this past season. For whatever reason the entire NBA passed on this guy and he went in the second round. He should be a quality rotational guy for the Spurs next year. Jack McClinton was a great scorer at Miami, and should be another "Eddie House" type of backup. The Spurs might not have picked up any stars in this draft, but for no risk I think they got some guys who should contribute to an already great team.
