Sarah Palin Resigns as Governor of Alaska before finishing Term 2

It's governors gone wild! I'm no expert at this stuff, but it seems unusual for a sitting governor with higher office aspirations to resign mid term. If you don't believe me, check out that South Carolina guy who is doing everything possible not to resign.

I sense some sort of scandal or a back room deal. I mean, it just doesn't make sense. As others have noted, her most glaring weakness is the depth of her experience. This sort of high profile quit just doesn't happen without a scandal or a medical condition lurking under the surface.

I'm no Palin fan but, from a purely human to human standpoint - it occurs to me that she may just be sick of people picking her life and her family apart every opportunistic chance they get. Mr. Backpeddler of the Year Letterman being one of the prime examples. I think it would really get old after awhile.

Bee, that makes perfect sense. But it would seem to be out of character for her to willingly remover herself from the spotlight.

i suspected a scandal initially too, but the details would have already come out, so that might not be a reason.

I see your point too magellan. I just thought considering she just had the baby not all that long ago and all the hoopla of the election, various other barbs etc. - it may have just worn her down. You get what you ask for when you enter that world I suppose but everyone has a limit. Personally, I can't even imagine being that visible....eeesh! I'm sure time will tell.

Maybe Todd walked into the Governor's office one day and caught her on the phone to South Carolina speaking with a thick Argetinian accent.
