Absolutely catastrophic. My father died in a terrible accident during Christmas. Metlife received all of the information it needed to process our claim within days. We turned in all of the documentation within the next 3 weeks because we need the money to help with the funeral and travels costs. It has now been 8 months!!! They are claiming they need to initiate an investigation into whether or not his death was accidental even though we've given them all necessary paper work AND the death certificate states Accidental Death. They will not give us a consistent rep. to speak with. This means we need to engage a different receptionist with the issue with EVERY phone call. They will also not allow you to speak with the person actually working on your claim. On top of that they have been rude, unclear and slow to respond. Needless to say, we will be initiatie a suit in the near future if they don't tell us what they need to process this claim soon.
