Sarah Palin Resigns as Governor of Alaska before finishing Term

reviewed by EschewObfuscation

"Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) announced this afternoon she will resign from office on July 26 and return to private life, a stunning decision by last year's Republican vice presidential candidate to leave office before the end of her first term."

Sarah Palin Resigns as Governor of Alaska before finishing Term 2

I'm happy for her, she's almost off the bullseye of hatred of nearly every left-leaning person in the civilized world. If there is any fairness, her last name will become a verb in the American lexicon, much the way Robert Bork's became one. It is not disappointing to me, only revealing of the hatred and condescension of which the ideologically driven press/media has become capable. While Obama whines incessantly and futilly moans for bi-partisanship and civility, the lefties infer she doesn't possess the toughness for high office.

What's funniest is the idea that Sarah Palin is a political laughingstock and Joe Biden has the serious job of Vice-President of the United States because it was so important to keep embarrassing gaffe machines out of any position of importance, lest their "inexperience" become apparent.

She's earned the right to cash in on the book and lecture circuit, which she will undoubtedly do, giving her tormentors ample opportunity to continue sniping and griping about her. And, heaven knows, they'll seldom miss an opportunity to fire their cheap shots and pile on every chance they get. Tell me again how she deserves it . . . she joins a long line of republican laughingstocks, successfully (and unfairly) characterized as such by the American press: Spiro Agnew, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Dan Quayle, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney. Anyone else notice a pattern?

That so many who excoriate her cast her as an 'inexperienced' and insignificant figure while simultaneously exhausting breath and ink over the very mention of her name could suggests that she's got a lot more substance than any of them dare to admit. Why would all those prescient souls waste so much time and energy over someone of so little consequence?
You'd think they would dismiss her with one of their time tested smears - "Palin is Hitler". They've done it for so many others.
Five'll get you ten that this lady gets the last laugh on the 'Obama-is-God' crowd (funny that there are far fewer folks trumpeting that malarkey these days.......I wonder why?)

j, it's really a good thing his highness was elected, in retrospect. Imagine the vitriole directed at Palin had McCain won the election. It would be so much worse, MSNBC might actually be covering current events instead of giving light to the Bush Impeachment effort, today. Anyway, I shudder to imagine the level of hatred that would have been transferred from George W. Bush and re-directed at Palin without a single liberal dingbat reporter even taking a breath.

Wait, MSNBC is a news organization?

Hi, EO!
True, and it's not as if the people we've mentioned ever employ the "Socratic method" of examining the world around them (I doubt most of them have even heard of it, or it's namesake).
We live in a land with a depressingly growing number of 'adults by the calendar, attention starved kids in everything else'.
As to breathless liberal dingbats, if they 'eschew' (sorry, couldn't help it!) breathing long enough, then they would pass out, and we would be spared the inane drone of their incessant hysterical and myopic rants). A definite 'upside' to consider.

numbah, I wouldn't go that far.

Is the number they did on Dr. Dean part of the pattern?

EschewObfuscation commented 124 days ago.
Only a stalwart, dyed-in-the-wool liberal would equate the Sarah Palin savaging to the absolute televised implosion of Howard Dean. If, in your view, those two are similar, so be it. That certainly wouldn't be the stupidest thing you've proferred here, fit. Not by a long shot.

And, jman, to your earlier question about "unhelpful" clicks, the use of the "funny" here is intended to mean disagree, by a few people who have no (or insufficient) balls to take up the argument. I don't think the funny button was intended to be used that way, but extreme liberals don't seem to mind using it instead of the disagree.

fitman commented 123 days ago.
Hmmmmmmmmm... so we're supposed to believe all my unfunny funny votes came from "extreme liberals".

Too funny!

EschewObfuscation commented 123 days ago.
One of them yours, fit?

fitman commented 123 days ago.
Of course. Make me laugh, and you get a funny.

EschewObfuscation commented 122 days ago.
Right, like I said, the "funny's" come from the liberal wing-nuts. Anyone want to take credit for the other?

Nice review, EO. Hit you with a double to cancel out the clown votes.
