Blue Buffalo Dog Food 2

I foster PUGS and have tried every dog food on the market-seriously. I found Nutro Lamb and Rice to work out perfectly for my dogs. It helped their coats and ear yeast infections to be without the Wheat and Corn. It had less fillers than most other brands. Upon hearing about the Nutro Lawsuit I swtiched to the "top brand" Blue Buffalo.

At first I could tell that they loved the taste- dark bits an all- but remember these are foster dogs and will eat just about anything. They have now been on it for four weeks and I have decided to throw out the rest of the bag. I expected gas at the beginning of the transistion, Pugs are kinda known for it, but this is REALLY bad. We cant even have them in the same room if there is company and it will stop you in your tracks when trying to have a conversation. The worst part has been the skin irritation, my male has scratched himself until he was bleeding and is in a constant state of distress. When he is laying still I can see his back twitching from being so itchy. Now my female is scratching and she has NEVER had itchy skin even with Science Diet!

I think that I will go back to Nutro and take my chances, hopefully they have remedied the Copper and Zinc issue now.

with Pugs and most other bracycephalic breeds, the flatulence issue often takes about eight weeks to dissapate, and can be hastened with charcoal based treats like Old Mother Hubbard's Char-Tar or with the addition of plain, unsweetened yogurt to the diet.
