Was thinking of getting an iPhone, but the more I use my Curve, the more I like it. No thanks Apple. Email is its specialty whether it's BIS or BES. Slightly disagree with the technical comment though. It's pretty easy to navigate through once you get the hang of it.

The freeze issue is something I've found on most of the phones I've had. Try cleaning up the database and/or upgrade to the latest OS release. Seems to work for many, including myself.

My only con would be the trackball, which occassionally sticks. It can be cleaned out, but BB should rethink the engineering of it.

I only said the technical comment because my father, who is 45 and isn't that good with technological stuff, had a hard time getting used to using it at first. Said it was too complicated for him. :]

Agreed then. I had a Samsung Finesse that was pretty easy to use, but functionally retarded. If he's using it mainly for email, once he gets it set up he'll love it. If he runs into any issues, point him to the crackberry.com forums. He'll be good to go in no time.
