Hi. I purchased a Shih Tzu puppy a year and a half ago. Shih Tzus tend to have allergies, so I use only lamb and rice products. I started her on Halo lamb and rice moist food but I couldn't find Halo lamb and rice in their dry food. After talking to the Blue Buffalo rep in a Petco store, I decided to try a bag of Blue Mountain because the food does not contain filler product. My dog loves it, except for the tiny dark bits, which she eats last or leaves. My dog has no gas and her poop is solid. I just this week went to Petco to purchase more Blue Buffalo lamb and rice, but they now only carry the ten pound bag which is too much for a tiny dog. I got talked into buying Natural Balance lamb and rice. I set out two dishes of food and she ate the Blue Mountain first, later finishing the Natural Balance. This morning I mixed the Blue Buffalo and the Natural Balance and my dog picked out all of the Blue Buffalo and later finished the Natural Balance. So now I need to find a pet store who carries Blue Buffalo lamb and rice in the five pound bags.

Our black lab mix was on Nutro Nuggets, which I purchased from Costco, and he had very bad gas which was horrible for us. We switched him to Science Diet dog food for Mature (over 7 yrs.) and the gas completely stopped. We keep him on Science Diet. We are very grateful.

If you find your dog is scratching a lot, I suggest changing his or her diet to lamb and rice product.
